What we collect
Joining the waitlist means creating a HACKTOBERFEST account with Google. When you do, Google shares your name, email address, and profile photo with us, and we store them in your HACKTOBERFEST profile along with a timestamp. We use that profile to manage your waitlist spot and, later, to power your public event profile. We never receive your Google password, and we ask for nothing beyond basic profile and email. You can request deletion of your account and profile at any time - see “Your rights” below.
Why we collect it
We use the email address on your account to notify you when HACKTOBERFEST Georgia 2026 dates, venue, and registration open, and to send event updates, announcements, and marketing communications, including messages from our event partners and sponsors.
Partner and sponsor messages are always sent by us on their behalf: we never sell your email address and we never hand it over to partners or sponsors directly. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by contacting us.
Where it lives
Waitlist entries are stored in our managed backend database with row-level security. Access is limited to event organizers.
Your rights
You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data at any time by reaching us on LinkedIn, Facebook, or YouTube. We’ll honor removal requests promptly.

Usage analytics
We run our own first-party analytics - no Google Analytics, no third-party trackers, no advertising pixels. We record anonymous usage events such as which pages are viewed, which buttons and links are clicked, how far down a page you scroll, and the fact that a form field was focused or submitted.
These events are tied to a random session identifier generated in your browser and kept only for the current browsing session. It is not linked to your name, email, or any account, and it cannot be used to recognize you on a later visit. We never record the text you type into a form - only that an interaction happened.
This data is stored in our own database, used solely to improve the site, and is never shared or sold.
